FIVE things you Should Know when Planning your Wedding
1st pick your date; it could have a special meaning for the both of you, an anniversary of your very first date. It could be the date you got that special proposal. A significant date will have more meaning than a randomly picked date.
2nd, find your celebrant. Do your research; ask for recommendations from people you know and trust. It is important that your personalities will be a good match that you like each other and will be able to form a lasting relationship. They need to be able to get to know and understand you both well so that they can right your vows to include fun and laughter as well as seriousness.
3rd, Venue or location. Most venues book more than 12 months ahead for a wedding. Check their reviews online, sample their food. Read any contracts thoroughly before signing, get a solicitor to check it out before you sign. Meet with the event coordinator. Remember if you’re in a park, garden or beach you will need a council permit. Ensure that the event coordinator is reliable and responsible with a good reputation.
4th Choosing your photographer. Book at least 12 months out if, you can, this will give you more time to save and not skimp. Your photographer has one of the most important jobs of the day, to capture and create memories that will remain with you after everything else is gone. Meet with them before deciding, you need to feel comfortable with them, as they will really get close and personal on the big day. Ask to see samples their work, particularly of recent weddings, check their social media pages for photos and reviews.
5th Caterer, be sure to sample the food before deciding. See if you can go to an event where they are working to get a taste of the food they produce without them being aware you are checking them out, if they are good it won’t be a problem, if not keep looking and tasting.
