I just had to share this, excerpt taken from My Ideal Wedding Blog
Finally the big day is upon you so let us make it the most memorable day of your life. Your wedding preparations have taken up a lot of your time over the months, now let's go knock them dead with all your efforts. Memories of the perfect occasion need to last for ever? This can be done by capturing every joyous moment of this fabulous day with great wedding photographs.
Selecting the right wedding photographer for your wedding is the way to help make it happen.
Providing your Photographer with as many details about your wedding and the theme, if there is one, will give them some insight on what camera equipment/lens etc they will require for the wedding photo shoot. Spending time explaining the timing of your wedding day is vital if your photographer is to be able to capture the special moments of the day as it progresses.
Try to allow enough time between each part of the day so that your Photographer can get to and set up for your photographs. A more relaxed environment among the entourage with no time limit on being here or there will help produce more natural photos.
Most Photographers will be happy to provide examples of previous weddings they have covered. These will prove that the photographer is genuine. Do not accept a display of only selected prints of their best snaps from different weddings. Ask if you can view complete sets of photos from 3 or 4 weddings. Just as you would follow up on references provided by people you may employ for a job at work you can also ask for the names and numbers of a few previous clients. By speaking with these people you can often get some good advice.
It is common for Photographers to offer various packages at different price levels. Make sure you understand exactly what is and is not included in any package you are considering. If you have a friend who is experienced in photography take the time to talk to them before meeting with your Photographers. They can let you know what to look for and what to ask.
Take your time making your final decision on the photographer of your choice- you only have one chance to get this right
